Top Ten Tuesday #15: Top Ten Rainy Day Reads

Why hello, my lovely readers! 😀

It’s Tuesday, and this topic is one very near and dear to me. Maybe that’s because rainy days don’t happen here very often. But this year we’ve had quite a few (which I LOVE) and it’s given me much more time to think about what I consider to fit in this category.

These meme lives on at: That Artsy Reader Girl

For me, it’s either a cute, fluffy contemporary reads, or they’re fantasy/ sci-fi reads that you can really get lost in. Nostalgia also plays a key role.

1. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

2. Caraval by Stephanie Garber

3. Attachments by Rainbow Rowell

4. Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling

5. Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare

6. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

7. Scythe by Neal Shusterman

8. I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson

9. Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

10. A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray

Any of the same books on your list? What’ve you got that I don’t? Let me know! Send me links to your TTT’s too!

TTT #14 (Places Mentioned in Books I’d LOVE to Visit)

17_prague_2018

1. Prague from Daughter of Smoke and Bone

I’m a sucker for anything set in old European cities. I just adore the history that’s taken place in Europe, it’s so much more in-depth than what we’ve got in the US. I love the old buildings and the history behind all the cities being built.

alicegate-1-810x434

2. Wonderland from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland

Ever since I was little, this was just one of those places that stood out to me and seemed like such an awesome place to at least visit.

3. Irish Countryside from Love & Luck

I have ALWAYS wanted to visit Ireland, but after reading that book it just made me fall even more in love with it. I want that road trip.

HogwartsCastle_WB_F4_HogwartsThroughTheTrees_Illust_100615_Land

4. HOGWARTS from Harry Potter

I mean… duh. But ever since I was little and started reading the books, I just adored the idea of visiting this huge castle full of magic in the wilds of Scotland.

5. Point Zero in Paris from Anna and the French Kiss

I actually went to Paris the year before I read this book and I’m so sad I hadn’t read it before because we were probably feet from this and I didn’t get to go see it.

6. Caraval from… Caraval

Who wouldn’t want to go visit such an amazing place like this?! Once again, I love all the magical factors and how Caraval came to be and I just feel like it would be incredible to actually see in person.

kimpton-barcelona-1700x750-v2

7. Barcelona from Isla and the Happily Ever After

One of my absolute favorite parts of the book was when Isla and Josh spent the weekend in Barcelona. The way everything was described was amazing, and once again, all the history in this city.

8. The Night Court  from A  Court of Mist and Fury

Honestly, nighttime has always been my favorite, there’s something oddly calm about the night and I love it. Plus I LOVE the stars.

tuscany-32547580-1550161837-ImageGalleryLightboxLarge

9. Tuscany from Love & Gelato

Aghh. Once again, I loved when we visited Italy but I didn’t get to stop in a lot of places like this. We mainly hit a few big cities (Rome, Verona, Venice) but I would have absolutely loved to see ones like this.

content_Celebrating-International-Hobbit-Day-in-Middle-Earth-_3_

10.The Shire from Lord of the Rings

I mean, a whole race of people who love gardening and eating and smoking? Count me in. Seriously though, how gorgeous is that?!

Any places on your list? Any others you’d love to visit?

Top Ten Tuesday (#10): Halloween Freebie!

It’s Tuesday again! You know what that means? Top Ten Tuesday time!!

For those of you who haven’t had the chance to take a look at this meme yet, checkout where it all began over at: The Broke and the Bookish and where it’s moved to since, over at: That Artsy Reader Girl !

This week is the Halloween freebie, so I’m going with 10 creepy/ Halloween-vibe books! Either ones I’ve read, or ones that I want to read. So, odd numbers are ones that I’ve read, and even are ones I haven’t!

scythe-neal-shusterman

1. Scythe by Neal Shusterman

I mean… goodness. This book is absolutely perfect for Halloween time. I mean, an entire society basically governed by reapers? Doesn’t get much more spooky than that! These books are definitely some of my absolute favorites.

91ht4Jp2WAL

2. Boneless Mercies by April Genevieve Tucholke

Can we please talk about how amazing this cover is?! And a book about female mercenaries?! So freaking stoked to read this book! It’s definitely one of the next books that I’d like to read!

51uMuqKqXLL._SX344_BO1,204,203,200_

3. Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake

This book was AMAZING. This is what made me buy Three Dark Crowns as soon as it came out. I mean, a killer ghost trapped in a house and endlessly killing anyone who steps foot inside?! Such a creepy read and I loved it!

StephenKingPetSematary

4. Pet Sematary by Stephen King

With the new movie scheduled to come out, this is the PERFECT time to read it! I’ve had it for ages and want to read it anyways, so it’s time to read!

41nhwSZQA7L._SX328_BO1,204,203,200_

5. Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake

What’s darker than triplets raised for the sole purpose of killing their sisters in order to take the throne? You grow to love all of the sisters in their own way and it’s hard to imagine any of them dying.

{957B14FB-CCBD-45E3-A27C-6767F3A7BF05}Img400

6. There’s Someone Inside Your House by Stephanie Perkins

I loved Anna and the French Kiss and would love to read this one by Perkins. I’ve heard a lot of good things, so I definitely want to check it out soon!

1582406197

7. The Walking Dead

I mean, doesn’t get more Halloween than zombies, huh? I love these graphic novels and seeing all the differences between this and the show!

35403058

8. City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab

I’ve loved every single one of her books that I’ve read and I don’t see why this one would be any different. I cannot wait to read this one!

51fyAFS3hzL._SX331_BO1,204,203,200_

9. Trial By Fire by Josephine Angelini

Definitely an underrated series. I love this one SO MUCH! I love the whole idea of witches and different versions of you in alternate realities and it’s just so well-written.

the-rules-of-magic-9781501137471_hr

10. The Rules of Magic by Alice Hoffman

I’ve had this one for a while now and I want to read it so badly! Plus, that cover is just absolutely BEAUTIFUL!

Top Ten Tuesday (#9): Authors I’d Like to Meet

Hey, it’s Tuesday. Pig ‘n a Poke!

I’ve been watching Supernatural over again, and oddly enough I’m watching the episode with the time loop right now, so it’s quite fitting! But anyways, it really is Tuesday and it’s time for another TTT!

For those of you who haven’t heard of this meme yet, checkout where it started at:

The Broke and the Bookish and where it moved to when the passed the torch over to: That Artsy Reader Girl

This is a whole lot more difficult than I thought, but here are the 10 authors I’d most like to meet. In no particular order.

  1. Sarah J. Maas
  2. J.K. Rowling
  3. Jay Kristoff
  4. Marissa Meyer (going to her book signing next month! eek)
  5. Marie Lu
  6. Laini Taylor
  7. V.E. Schwab
  8. Pierce Brown
  9. Alexandra Braken
  10. Stephanie Garber

There were others I could think of, but a couple of them are dead (Tolkien, Dickens, etc.) and a couple I’ve met before (Stephenie Meyer, Cassandra Clare, Stephen Chbosky)

Who would you like to meet? Do we have any of the same ones on our list?

See y’all real soon!
